Do you have favourite parks? Here in Bellingham ours is Marine Drive Park. It's small and cozy. We go there often to read and soak up the sun.
A reading "room" with a view. |
Other people do, too. They come in cars, on bikes and walking from neighbourhood homes.
Marine Drive Park is family and dog friendly. |
There are picnic tables and benches and plenty of lawn to spread out on.
We bring our chairs to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine several times a week. |
And an occasional freight train just adds to to the experience.
Burlington Northern-Santa Fe trains haul coal and freight to Vancouver BC. |
Where is your favourite place to get outdoors? -- Margy
A really lovely park. So glad you can go there to enjoy it
ReplyDeleteIt is nice with a great view. Because it is hard to get to the water it is less crowded, which is a plus for us. - Margy
DeleteLovely...getting outdoors is so nourishing to the soul and body. We went for a hike yesterday and it was so good to be back on the trail and walking through the forest. I'm grateful to live in an area that has so many outdoor options - Mt. Hood, the Columbia River, the Gorge
ReplyDeleteNow that warmer weather is here we are going out twice a day. We walk in the neighbourhood in the cool of the morning and go out to a park for the sunny afternoon. It has really helped our mental health. - Margy

ReplyDeleteYes it does, and freshens the mind. - Margy
DeleteAs well as here in Finland also in your place there is enough space for social distancing! :)

DeleteLiving in South Black Forest (Germany) I have many wonderful places to "recharge my batteries" close by. And I enjoy it very much!
ReplyDeleteI have never been to Germany, but my husband's family came from there several generations back. - Margy
DeleteSuch a lovely spot!
ReplyDeleteOf course, our forest is my special place, despite there being a bazillion mosquitoes!
You have a great place to live, where you and the kitties can take lots of walkies. - Margy
DeleteWe love to get by the water. We got out to a couple of our favourite places last week once some restrictions were lifted. Any news on when you can return to your float cabin?
ReplyDeleteThe border is currently scheduled to reopen on July 21 but I don't see it happening with the huge surge happening in the States right now. We may just have to go through a 14-day quarantine. - Margy
DeleteWe love our local park too. It has some wonderful trees there. So glad you can go to yours and enjoy some nature time.

Now that summer heat is starting the trees will be an important refuge from the burning sun's rays. - Margy
DeleteI don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t get out to our parks and walk paths! We have several ways to go within walking distance and others we can drive to.
ReplyDeleteWe use the sidewalks for power walk exercise, but drive to get to natural areas to enjoy the fresh air and read. - Margy
