Float Cabin YouTube Video Reaches Over One Million Views

Back in 2012, I sent pictures and video clips about off-the-grid living in our float cabin home to Kirsten Dirksen in Spain. She has a YouTube channel that focuses on tiny homes, simple living and other interesting topics.

A look at the YouTube page with our 1,000,000+ views.

Kirsten took the raw images I sent and put them together into a video for her channel. Little did I know that the video she created would become so popular. This week it just crossed the 1,000,000 views mark.

In case you haven't seen it yet, here it is. You can view it right here or go to YouTube for a larger version.

Thanks Kirsten for sharing our story with so many people.

  5. We actually live on the edge of Victoria Tract of the tree farm and Bob's land shares a boundary with it. Initally Haughberg saw how the logging companies mismanaged the land by stripping it of all trees and then left it so he bought it up and small farms too. He knew there was a better way to manage the wood. He logs small areas and replants----he bought up the property in the 40's and 50's. It is an interesting story--I should write more about it.

    1. Thanks. I can't figure out why there was a sudden upsurge of views this last month, but that's what pushed the video over the million mark and it's still going strong. - Margy

    1. It has been an amazing run for this video. The ones I make on my Margy Lutz YouTube channel don't get hardly as much action. I continue to follow this video made for us and answer questions as they come up. In the beginning there were lots of trolls, but now it is mostly people who have real questions. - Margy
