Low Tide, Clouds, and Sunset on Bellingham Bay

Low tide, low clouds, and sunset have been coming all together. I hurried down to the small park on Marine Drive to get some sunset shots.

This park is near the intersection of Marine Drive and Alderwood Avenue. It 's a popular spot to read, relax, catch the nearby trail for shoreline walks ...

... and of course, watch sunsets. -- Margy

  3. Thank you for visiting my blog today! Such beautiful sunsets. For me the day is not ended when there's no sun set - luckily in California we have them on most days.

Don't know if you scrolled on my blog, but like to invite you to my new SEASONS meme/challenge. The link for a thumb nail photo is open Mon-Wed till 7pm, Pacific time.
Anything goes, so it does not have to be a landscape or flowers. can be festivals, experiences, food, etc. Hope you'll join the fun!

  4. Beautiful pictures. Love how the thistle (I think) is in the foreground of your picture.

  5. I'm your newest follower. Composition of the thistle in the foreground is perfect. What a way to end a day with the second photo.

  7. Lovely lovely. That is one of our all time favorite spots in Bellingham. You can often find us there picnicking - if the weather isn't warm enough we will eat our picnic in the car. We've seen all sorts of wondrous things there - planes going to and from the islands, the train whizzing by, wind surfers far below on good windy days, and once we saw a Barred owl sitting on the wires near the road - it was very patient and I got lots of photos of it. It moved to one of the low posts near the road - then to a tree on the outside of the driveway into the park. There is a fabulous blackberry patch just up the road a bit. One time we even saw a plane going over with bombs attached under the wings - I got a picture of that. One of these days we are going to run into each other in town.

  8. We were so impressed with the Bellingham area when we spent a few days there both before and after our Alaska summer. It is an area of Washington that we'd never really explored at all when we lived in the PNW full-time. (I guess Seattle distracted us ;))
